The German drug manufacturer Bayer warned of a "risk long-term risk infection because there is a risk of prolonged kidney damage as well reduced ability to fight infections."
Taken together, the figures suggest that a third of people taking antibiotics are getting them unnecessarily.
Last year around 24,000 people died from superbug infections in hospital, according to the NHS (National Health Service).
And in June, the government canada pharmacy discount coupons announced there had been a 25% increase in infections as antibiotics failed to kill the most toxic and deadly superbug - MRSA.
'A significant barrier'
Prof David Johnson, who led a survey of 1,500 primary care doctors, said that the issue could ultimately be a "gateway" to new resistant bugs.
"It will be quite prednisone purchase online clear that unless the community is taking antibiotics more judiciously, they're going to be creating resistance our current drugs".
He told BBC News: "If, at this rate, we really do reach an era where we've got very, very few Prednisone 5mg $45.44 - $0.38 Per pill drugs, it will be a risk for some people of serious consequences.
"One of the biggest barriers we have to overcome is the fact that there a real reluctance to prescribe antibiotics.
"This is of greatest concern if [antibiotics] are becoming useless."
He said there are plenty of alternatives
Buy ketotifen tablets uk to antibiotics for some minor infections, but that many people are hesitant about asking for them, when an antibiotic is often the last option.

Professor Paul Cosford, from Bristol University, has been studying the issue over past few years, but said there was no doubt that antibiotics were overuse.
"The question is, do we reduce overuse of antibiotics in general or do we use more?" he asked.
"I think it's rather unlikely that we can rely on taking antibiotics in the way they're recommended evidence.
"If you look at the impact of antibiotic overuse - it's a significant barrier to treatment

'Patient responsibility'
When it comes to the future of antivenoms, Prof Chris Mason Bristol University said it was too early to predict, because there were still so many bugs around - but he suggested that some might emerge are even more deadly than superbugs today.
"I think we're coming to a point - I don't want to exaggerate a case - where we may lose some of the most powerful drugs on earth," he explained. "That is unacceptable. But that sort of an apocalyptic story is possible."
Prof Sir Michael Rawlins, a microbiologist and chair of the Royal Microbiology Society's antimicrobial resistance committee, said that despite the new statistics, efforts had been made to reduce the overuse of latest antibiotics, such as penicillin.
This week's survey suggests that doctors in major European cities continue to prescribe the antibiotics when they are warranted. Prof Richard Horton, from Imperial College London, said it was important to emphasise the different types of antibiotic - a key factor in choosing which one to prescribe - given there can be resistance on a number of fronts.
The Royal College of GPs is due to release guidelines on prescribing antibiotics late in 2014, as is a Department of Health study planned for 2015.
